About this policy

This privacy policy explains how Novactis Inc. ("Novactis", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal information through the website novactis.ca. It is published in compliance with the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (CQLR, c. P-39.1), as amended by Law 25, and with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Privacy officer

The person responsible for the protection of personal information at Novactis is the person holding the highest authority within the organization, reachable at:

Personal information we collect

We collect personal information in two ways:

Information you provide directly: When you submit the contact form on our website, we collect your first name, last name, email address, and the content of your message.

Information collected automatically through tracking technologies: Our website uses Google Tags (Google Analytics), the Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram), and the LinkedIn Insight Tag. These technologies use cookies and similar identifiers to collect data about your browsing activity, including pages visited, time spent on the site, referring source, device type, browser type, IP address, and interaction events. This information is used to measure website performance, understand visitor behavior, and deliver targeted advertising on third-party platforms.

Purposes of collection

We collect personal information for the following purposes: to respond to inquiries submitted through the contact form; to measure and analyze website traffic and visitor behavior; to deliver and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns on Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), and LinkedIn; and to improve our website and services based on aggregate usage data.

Consent

In accordance with Law 25, all tracking technologies (Google Tags, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag) are deactivated by default when you visit our website. These technologies are activated only after you provide explicit, opt-in consent through our cookie consent banner. You may accept or refuse non-essential cookies at any time. Strictly necessary cookies required for the basic functioning of the website do not require consent.

When you submit the contact form, your consent to the collection and use of the information you provide is given by the act of submitting the form. You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us at policy@novactis.ca.

Third parties receiving personal information

When you consent to the use of tracking technologies, your browsing data is transmitted to the following third-party service providers: Google LLC (Google Analytics, Google Ads), for website analytics and advertising; Meta Platforms, Inc. (Meta Pixel), for advertising measurement and audience building on Facebook and Instagram; and LinkedIn Corporation (LinkedIn Insight Tag), for advertising measurement and audience building on LinkedIn.

These service providers process data according to their own privacy policies. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any other party.

Transfer of information outside Quebec

The third-party services listed in Section 6 are operated by companies headquartered in the United States. When you consent to the use of these tracking technologies, your personal information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where these companies operate servers. Before authorizing any such transfer, Novactis has assessed that the information will receive adequate protection, taking into account the sensitivity of the information, the purposes for which it will be used, and the applicable legal framework in the receiving jurisdiction, in accordance with Section 17 of the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.

Retention and destruction

Personal information submitted through the contact form is retained only for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter to ensure follow-up, after which it is destroyed or anonymized. Cookies and tracking data are retained according to the retention periods set by each third-party provider (typically 14 to 26 months for Google Analytics, and up to 180 days for Meta and LinkedIn pixels). When the purpose of collection has been fulfilled, personal information is destroyed or anonymized in accordance with Law 25.

Your rights

Under the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, you have the following rights: the right to access your personal information held by Novactis; the right to have inaccurate, incomplete, or equivocal information corrected; the right to withdraw your consent to the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information; the right to request the deletion of your personal information when the purpose of its collection has been fulfilled or when your consent has been withdrawn; and the right to request that your personal information be provided to you in a structured, commonly used technological format (data portability).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at policy@novactis.ca. We will respond within 30 days of receiving your request. If we are unable to act on your request, we will provide written reasons.

If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'acces a l'information du Quebec (CAI) at www.cai.gouv.qc.ca.

Cookie consent management

Our website displays a consent banner on your first visit. Non-essential tracking technologies are blocked until you actively consent. You may change or withdraw your cookie preferences at any time by accessing the cookie settings link available in the footer of every page. You may also disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect website functionality.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and provide notice of any material changes through our website.
